Laptops Donations Needed Urgently

S.T.E.A.M. Achievers is in urgent need of 400 working laptops for scholars to share during the Biannual STEAM Achievers Purpose Hackathons, during summer and after school programs. The laptops will be used as a mobile lab providing programs in different locations.

STEAM Achievers successfully launched and is currently running S.T.E.A.M. Summer Programs in the city of Dallas this summer, serving 250+ scholars every week from June – August 2018. Scholars shared laptops at a ratio of 1:2 and 1:4 laptops to scholars.

STEAM Achievers Programs Expanding to 14 locations in 2018-2019!

STEAM Achievers Afterschool Programs will be expanding to 14 locations from August 2018-May 2019, serving 40-60 scholars at each location, and totaling up to 960 scholars.

We need Your Help

Having served over 250 scholars this summer, we are elated to be continuing our programming to scholars in the Dallas region and beyond. However, we will need your help to extend these program offerings to about 960 children and youth. Some of the scholars we will be serving are in locations with limited to no access to computers and limited WiFi capabilities. A percentage of the scholars are from low income, single-mother head-of-households.

Please help us provide impactful, strategic STEAM programming to these amazing scholars, many of whom low computer literacy levels and literacy levels far below their grade levels. We welcome your tax deductible in-kind donations of new or used laptops or funding towards the cost of Chromebook laptops and WiFi to shared among the locations. Here is how you can help:

  • Your tax deductible gift of $172.99 will sponsor the purchase of 1 Chromebook to be shared at the different locations
  • $1729.90 will sponsor the purchase of 10 Chromebooks
  • $17,299 will sponsor the purchase of 100 Chromebooks
  • $34,598 will sponsor the purchase of 200 Chromebooks

  • $2,000 will sponsor the cost of WiFi for 5 locations for the 2017-2018 Academic Year
  • $4,000 will sponsor the cost of WiFi for 10 locations for the 2017-2018 Academic Year
  • $6,600 will sponsor the cost of WiFi for 14 locations for the 2017-2018 Academic Year
